The John and Karen Arnold School of Nursing at 91°µÍø prepares future nursing professionals to enter the field ready to provide skillful, compassionate healthcare in virtually every setting, from community health clinics and hospitals to schools and nursing homes to emergency and disaster relief sites. Combining theory with clinical practice, the curriculum develops the skill set necessary for nurses to not only address the physical and psychological needs of their patients across the lifespan, but also to educate and advocate, counsel, research and problem solve with sensitivity and understanding.
91°µÍø’s Engineering Experience and Professional Skills (EEPS) minor helps engineering and engineering technology majors turn classroom learning into real-world engineering experience. Through approved internships, research experiences, technical writing, project management, professional ethics, and faculty guidance, students build a transcripted credential that highlights practical experience and career readiness. The EEPS Minor is designed for students who want to build experience before graduation, including first-year engineering students planning ahead, community college transfer students, and 2+3 engineering pathway students.
The digital revolution has radically changed the way that many humanities scholars conduct research and share work. Digital humanities applies emerging technologies to these explorations, expanding access to and participation in the field.
The Master of Education with Principal (PK-12) Certification Program is designed to enhance the scholarly and professional development of classroom teachers who aspire to gain an administrative position. The program prepares future educational leaders to interact successfully with students, teachers, parents, school board members, and the community at large. The program prepares educators to meet the Pennsylvania Principal (PK-12) Certification requirements. Students graduate with a Master of Education degree and Principal Certification which gives a strong impetus to their career development.
The Master of Education with Special Education Certification (Grades PK-12) Program prepares educators for a master's degree with Pennsylvania certification in special education. This program is for educators who hold another teaching certification and would like to be successful in a variety of inclusive special education classroom settings. To enhance their understanding of working with children with various abilities and disabilities, students are required to complete classroom field experiences, pre-student teaching, and six weeks of student teaching.
The Master of Education in Special Education prepares educators who hold another teaching certification to be successful in a variety of inclusive special education classroom settings. Coursework that focuses on young students with special needs such as learning disabilities, social/emotional disorders, and autism in combined with coursework in technology, literacy and teaching strategies and methods for the instruction of students.
The Master of Education in Educational Leadership and Innovation is designed for educators aspiring to gain a leadership position in educational institutions. The program provides professional educators with a broad-based knowledge of leadership in the field of education, whether for an administrative position or for a classroom teacher serving in a leadership capacity, such as a department chair, committee head, or community leader.
The Ed.D. in Transformative Education Program empowers educational professionals to lead change, respond to change and undergo change, both personally and professionally. The program is designed for diverse professionals who are committed to reshaping education as a vehicle for equity and systemic improvement. Whether students come from classrooms, college campus offices, community programs, or corporate training teams, they will graduate being equipped and inspired to lead meaningful change in their professional spheres.
The Certificate Program in Community Engagement is an interdisciplinary program designed to increase students’ ability to create positive change in their community and to address serious community issues through the development and implementation of short- and long-term impactful civic projects. Students identify and apply practical considerations that underpin community engagement and voluntary service.
The gerontology certificate of completion helps students meet the rapidly expanding job market in the field of geriatrics. The program is designed for individuals who have never attended college or who have a degree and want to complete this specialization.
